Sakai Isshin Tobacco Knife
The Tobacco Knife is a historical Japanese blade originally crafted by Sakai artisans during the Edo period for cutting tobacco leaves, which were introduced to Japan by the Portuguese. This knife represents the origins of Sakai cutlery and is a remarkable piece for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
This knife is made from carbon steel and features a single-bevel edge. Although it has been stored for a long time in an unused condition, the blade shows a slight curve along the edge due to the storage. However, it has been professionally sharpened and is ready for immediate use upon arrival.
The knife has also been carefully maintained to prevent any decline in sharpness from storage, and it will be delivered to you in the excellent condition shown in the photos.
This knife features the engraving "さかい 登録 一神" (Sakai, Registered, Isshin).

Blade Length: 135mm
