Seki Magoroku Yanagiba KnifeThe Yanagiba is a traditional Japanese knife designed for slicing sashimi with a single pulling motion using its long blade. This knife is from the Seki Magoroku brand. The dark section of the blade has a black oxide finish. This finish forms a stable oxide layer on the iron surface, helping to reduce the formation of red rust while giving the blade a subdued black appearance. The rugged black blade and polished silver edge create a striking contrast. With continued use and sharpening, the appearance of the black oxide finish will gradually change, which is part of the character of a carbon steel knife. As the finish was applied to a previously used knife rather than a new blade, the shade and intensity of the black color may vary depending on the original condition. Please enjoy its unique, one-of-a-kind appearance. This single-beveled carbon steel knife offers excellent sharpness.Professionally sharpened and ready to use. Sharpening service is included in the price. Please handle with care when unpacking.Engraving: 関孫六 (Seki Magoroku), 銀寿 (Ginju), 本鋼 (Honko Steel), etc.
