Funayuki Knife with Black Oxide Finish
The Funayuki is a thin Japanese knife used for a wide range of tasks, from fish preparation to cutting vegetables.
This knife is single-beveled carbon steel, offering excellent sharpness.
A thin Funayuki knife with no visible maker's mark. It may have faded from maintenance. This thin Deba-style knife is a size that can also be used like a Wa-Petty knife.
The black areas of the blade have been treated with a Black Oxide Finish. This finish forms a stable oxide layer on the iron surface, helping suppress red rust while giving the blade a calm black appearance. The rugged black blade contrasts clearly with the sharpened silver edge, giving it a strong tool-like presence. As it is used, the black oxide areas will gradually change in appearance, which is part of the appeal of carbon steel knives. Since this finish was not applied to a brand-new knife, the black color may be uneven in places, adding to its character.
Professionally sharpened and ready to use. Sharpening service is included in the price. Please handle with care when unpacking.
Length: 280mm
Blade Length: 140mm
Blade Width: 32mm
Blade Thickness: 3-4mm
Weight: 92g
