Sakai Hamonoza Funayuki Knife

A funayuki is a slim, deba-like Japanese knife that is useful for breaking down fish and for general prep work.

This knife is single-beveled and made of hagane (high-carbon steel). With the sticker still remaining, it appears to have been stored with little use. It is in very clean condition.

It has been sharpened and is ready to use upon arrival. Please handle with care when unpacking. The price includes the sharpening service.

It features the engraving “堺刃物座” (Sakai Hamonoza). The handle still has stickers including “日本鋼製” (Made of Japanese Steel).

A funayuki can be a great “one knife for fish” at home—nimble enough for prep, yet sturdy enough to help with basic fish breakdown before slicing sashimi.
