FACTORY SECOND brings together Japanese knives that did not meet the maker’s standards for regular products. Reasons may include a blade that is slightly shorter than planned, an engraving placed in an unusual position, small scratches, uneven finishing, or a slight difference in shape.
Some imperfections are very hard to notice. In some cases, even we cannot tell exactly why the maker marked the knife as a factory second. If an issue can be fixed, YoichiroKnife makes the necessary repair or adjustment.
Every knife is inspected one by one to make sure that it performs properly and is ready for practical use.
