Kikuichimonji Deba Knife (Bessaku)

This is a Bessaku (special make) Deba knife from Kikuichimonji. The Deba is a traditional Japanese knife for processing fish, with a thick, heavy blade that can handle tasks such as removing heads and working around bones. This piece seems to have seen limited use and has been stored for some time, showing patina on the Hagane and worm damage on the water buffalo horn, but the blade itself is still thick with plenty of life left and ready to be put back into regular use.

The knife has a single-bevel Hagane (carbon steel) blade, providing powerful and sharp cutting performance.

It has been sharpened, so it is ready to use immediately upon arrival. Please handle with care when unpacking. The price includes the sharpening fee.

It bears engravings "登録" (Registered), "菊一文字" (Kikuichimonji), and "別作" (Bessaku / Special Make).

This Deba is ideal for breaking down whole fish for grilled dishes, sashimi, or sushi toppings, especially for those who want to experience the feel of a traditional Kikuichimonji blade.
