Seki Magoroku Usuba KnifeThe Usuba is designed for delicate vegetable preparation, including katsuramuki peeling and decorative cutting. This is an Usuba from the Seki Magoroku brand. The dark section of the blade has a black oxide finish. This finish forms a stable oxide layer on the iron surface, helping to reduce the formation of red rust while giving the blade a subdued black appearance. The rugged black blade and polished silver edge create a striking contrast. With continued use and sharpening, the appearance of the black oxide finish will gradually change, which is part of the character of a carbon steel knife. As the finish was applied to a previously used knife rather than a new blade, the shade and intensity of the black color may vary depending on the original condition. Please enjoy its unique, one-of-a-kind appearance. This single-beveled carbon steel knife offers excellent sharpness.Professionally sharpened and ready to use. Sharpening service is included in the price. Please handle with care when unpacking.Engraving: 関孫六 (Seki Magoroku)Branded marking: Burned stamp on handle
