U.S. Duties & Import Taxes

1) Changes to U.S. Import Rules
Due to changes in U.S. import regulations, customs duties and import taxes apply to goods imported from Japan into the United States, regardless of the order value.
Most knives sold by our store are classified by U.S. Customs as steel derivative products. Therefore, in addition to the regular customs duty, Section 232 additional tariffs may apply. As a result, the total duties and import taxes are generally approximately 30% of the product value.
Some non-knife products and specially classified items may be subject to different rates. The final amount may vary depending on the product’s HTS code, declared value, country of origin, and the determination of U.S. Customs.
2) Duties and Import Taxes at Checkout
For orders shipped to the United States, duties and import taxes are calculated and collected at checkout together with the product price and shipping charge.
Orders are shipped DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) using Japan Post and Zonos. Under normal circumstances, you will not be asked to pay additional customs duties upon delivery.
3) Shipping to the United States
U.S.-bound orders are shipped using Japan Post services supported by Zonos, such as International Air Parcel.
International Air Parcel is available for small packages weighing up to 2 kg after packing. Shipping charges are calculated based on the packed weight.
4) Free Shipping
Free shipping is available on U.S. orders with a product total of US$300 or more.
Free shipping does not mean that duties and import taxes are waived. Duties and import taxes are calculated and collected separately at checkout.
For orders under US$300, shipping charges are applied based on the packed weight.
5) Duties and Import Tax Estimates
The duties and import taxes shown at checkout are calculated based on the available product information, HTS code, country of origin, declared value, and other applicable details at the time of purchase.
The final amount may be adjusted according to the determination of U.S. Customs.
