Sakai Tomokuni Yanagiba Knife
This is a yanagiba knife by Sakai Tomokuni.
The yanagiba is a traditional Japanese knife designed for slicing sashimi with a long, single pulling motion. This is a shorter sashimi knife, but the water buffalo handle gives it a refined feel. It should be easy to handle and enjoyable for preparing sashimi from fish blocks at home.
This knife is single-beveled and made of hagane (carbon steel), offering excellent sharpness.
Its manageable length makes it approachable for home sushi and sashimi preparation while still offering the clean slicing action of a true yanagiba.
The knife has been sharpened, so it is ready to use immediately upon arrival. Please handle with care when unpacking. The price includes the sharpening fee.
It features the engravings "堺友国作" (Sakai Tomokuni) and "極上" (Finest Quality).
Length: 305mm
Blade Length: 180mm
Blade Width: 22mm
Blade Thickness: 3-4mm
Weight: 82g
SHARPENED by a Japanese Sharpener. Razor sharp. The sharpener is in Kyoto, the traditional city in Japan as you know. You can use without maintenance. You don't need to pay maintenance costs after receiving. If any, please feel free to ask, English available.
