Sakai Masazumi Yanagiba Knife
This is a yanagiba knife by Sakai Masazumi.
The yanagiba is a traditional Japanese knife designed for slicing sashimi with a long, single pulling motion. Darkening typical of hagane steel has developed during storage, but the sharpened edge remains clean and silver. The engraving and handle brand mark have become faint. Because it is reasonably priced, it may be a good option for someone who wants to try a hagane yanagiba.
This knife is single-beveled and made of hagane (carbon steel), offering excellent sharpness.
A good entry point into traditional sashimi knives, suitable for home sushi and sashimi practice as well as general fish slicing.
The knife has been sharpened, so it is ready to use immediately upon arrival. Please handle with care when unpacking. The price includes the sharpening fee.
Although it has become very faint through maintenance, it still bears the engraving "堺正澄" (Sakai Masazumi). The handle also bears a branded mark.
Length: 340mm
Blade Length: 205mm
Blade Width: 28mm
Blade Thickness: 4mm
Weight: 107g
