Sakai Shigemitsu Yanagiba Knife

This is a yanagiba knife by Sakai Shigemitsu.

The yanagiba is a traditional Japanese knife designed for slicing sashimi with long, clean strokes. This is a clean piece with a beautiful water buffalo handle. At around 210mm, it is easy to handle even in a home kitchen.

This knife is single-beveled and made of hagane (carbon steel), offering excellent sharpness.
Well suited for sashimi, sushi prep, and fine fish slicing, this size offers a good balance between traditional performance and easy control.

The knife has been sharpened, so it is ready to use immediately upon arrival. Please handle with care when unpacking. The price includes the sharpening fee.

It features the engravings "堺重光" (Sakai Shigemitsu) and "上作" (Superior Make). The handle also bears a branded mark.
