Sakai Isshin Tobacco Knife
The Tobacco Knife traces its roots to the Edo period, when Japanese craftsmen began making specialized blades for slicing imported tobacco leaves. It's considered one of the historical origins of Sakai cutlery and holds significant collector value.
This is a single-beveled high-carbon steel knife, unused and in excellent stored condition. While it had dulled slightly during storage, it has been carefully maintained and sharpened for optimal performance.
It is presented in the clean condition shown in the photos.
It features engravings "さかい" (Sakai), "登録" (Registered), and "一神" (Isshin).
A rare and meaningful piece of Japanese cutlery history—ideal for collectors, historians, or those drawn to traditional Sakai craftsmanship.
Length: 185mm
Blade Length: 135mm
Blade Width: 120mm
Blade Thickness: 1-2mm
Weight: 196g
SHARPENED by a Japanese Sharpener. Razor sharp. The sharpener is in Kyoto, the traditional city in Japan as you know. You can use without maintenance. You don't need to pay maintenance costs after receiving. If any, please feel free to ask, English available.
