Deba Knife
This is a deba knife with no remaining maker’s mark.
The deba is a traditional Japanese knife designed for breaking down fish, with a thick blade suited to work around bones. There is a crack on the spine side of the handle. It does not appear to be spreading, and since it is a narrow handle, it has been left as is. Because this is a traditional Japanese knife, replacing the handle is also an option for those who are concerned. The condition is reflected slightly in the price, so it may be a good value for someone who does not mind it.
This knife is single-beveled and made of hagane (carbon steel), offering excellent sharpness.
Even without a visible maker’s mark, this is still a strong, well-made traditional fish knife with plenty of practical use left.
The knife has been sharpened, so it is ready to use immediately upon arrival. Please handle with care when unpacking. The price includes the sharpening fee.
The maker’s mark appears to have been lost through maintenance or wear, but this remains a very good deba knife.
Length: 350mm
Blade Length: 195mm
